# Launch websites for a book, an album, or a new service

A launch has a date, and the website has to be right on that date: the pre-order link works, the share preview shows the cover, the press kit downloads, and a search for the title finds your page ahead of the retailers. I build small, fast launch sites on a domain you own, with the search and AI groundwork already done, so the page that announces the launch keeps working long after it.

## Who it's for
- **Authors** with a book coming out who want a home that outlasts the publisher's catalog page.
- **Musicians and labels** releasing an album or a single who need one address for streaming links, tour dates, and press.
- **Filmmakers and documentary teams** with screenings, festival laurels, and a trailer to share.
- **Consultants and small firms** opening a new practice or launching a new service who need a credible site in days.

## What gets built
- **A home page about the launch**, with the cover or key art, the date, and every place to buy, stream, or book.
- **An about page for you**, written to answer the questions a journalist or an AI assistant asks first: who you are, what you've made before, and where to find you elsewhere.
- **A press or media page** with downloadable images, a short and a long description, and contact details.
- **Structured data** for the work itself, as a Book, MusicAlbum, Movie, or Service, connected to Person or Organization markup for you, so search engines tie the title to its creator.
- **Share cards** at the right size for every page, so a link posted on Facebook, LinkedIn, or X shows the full cover and the right words.
- **A sitemap, robots.txt, and an llms.txt file**, with the site registered in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools before launch day.

## Live weeks before the date

A new domain needs time to be crawled. I aim to have the site live and submitted weeks before the launch, even if the first version only announces the date and collects email addresses. When the launch arrives, the page that already exists gets the buy links and the reviews, and search engines already know where it is. Recurring events get the same treatment: one permanent address that is updated each year, the method in my guide to [sale pages that keep their rankings](https://christopherabraham.com/guides/black-friday-pages/).

## Proof you can check

This site is static, hand-checked, and built by the same method; the [colophon](https://christopherabraham.com/about/colophon/) describes how. My own podcast site gave each of 458 episodes a page of its own, written up in the [podcast site case study](https://christopherabraham.com/case-studies/podcast-site/). And when my serialized novel needed a new home, I moved it off old hosting with every URL intact, as told in the [Movable Type novel case study](https://christopherabraham.com/case-studies/movable-type-novel/).

## After launch

A launch site should keep earning. Reviews, interviews, and awards get added as they arrive, and the about page gets updated as the work grows. You can edit the plain files yourself, ask an AI coding assistant to make a change and review it, or have me do it, with each round of changes quoted as a fixed fee first. Every change is recorded, so any mistake can be undone.

## What I'll need from you

The domain, or the name you'd like; the cover or key art at full resolution; the launch date; the links to retailers or platforms; and a short call to agree on the words. If you have reviews, press quotes, or a bio already, send those too, with their sources, because everything on the site gets checked before it goes up.

## How it's delivered

A fixed-scope build, quoted after a short call, on a site you own from the first commit. The broader approach is on the [static websites](https://christopherabraham.com/services/static-sites/) page, and terms are on [Hire Me](https://christopherabraham.com/hire-me/).

## Talk it over

Every engagement starts with a conversation about your site and what you need. Pick whichever route suits you.
